It’s kind of interesting to watch how designers develop their collections each season and how concepts change but the design aesthetic stays the same. So Fall 2010 was gawky- preppy school girls and Fall 2011 is a Santa Fe inspired road trip. Going forward designers Jack McCoullagh and Lazaro Hernandez have pixelated native American blankets into a print for slouchy pants. It’s another example of the many takes on the Wild West that are evident internationally. But really I’m just looking for an excuse to post an old video collaboration by Harmony Korine for Proenza Schouler inspired by a photo by Christopher Wool. That’s some serious name dropping in my book. I know it’s so last year, but still super cool and I love how ‘preppy’ has become drinking 40s and throwing shapes on a sunny day bunking off school. Brings me back…
