Dr. Martens have launched their new First & Forever campaign, shot by Gavin Watson in his gritty British youth culture style. A short film and advertising images feature Agyness Dean recalling her first heartbreak and sets the theme of epic first moments the brand is recalling, alongside of course with the first pair of docs you ever owned. I got mine around the back of the Illac centre…

The making of an image comissioned by Vodafone for their Black & White Blackberry collection.
I sound a little flaky in the video but really I had a strong idea in my head to shoot the image on the back seat upstairs on a Dublin Bus! Andreas sweet talked 5 mins from a bus driver sitting in a parking bay. A nod to teenage nights of getting overly dressed up and jumping a bus into the bright city lights.

We did another series of images in Clontarf park also, which were pretty cool too.

Southern Italian Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy, is the curator for the current issue of Visionaire taking on the theme of religion as seen through the eyes of art and fashion. Each issue of Visionaire invites a guest editor on board to explore their personal interpretation of a theme through collaborations and commissions, with freedom to develop the publications format. Previous editions have comprised of a set of 12″ records, a series of children’s books or come in a specially designed Louis Vuitton portfolio case. Always a limited edition, Religion (issue 60) is a leather bound collection of black & white provocative images, complete with a case inspired by a church altar piece. Contributors to this issue include Robert Maplethorpe, Jefferson Hack, Jamie Bochert, Karl Largerfeld and Patti Smith. The designer approached the project by excluding fashion credits from the book so that stylists, photographers and artists involved would be free of the industry’s commercial constraints or practice of pleasing the client.
